I've visited many PetSmart and Banfield locations across the U.S., and this one is the best! I felt completely at ease leaving my dog here. The appointment scheduling, care plan, and overall service in general was excellent, including the friendly cashiers at the front. Arso and I will definitely return. Thank you!

The customer service is amazing. They seem to really care about the well-being of my pet. They answer any questions to help prevent any potential health issues. The staff is upfront about potential cost and to call me if they come across expenses so I am aware of my bill. I have the Wellness plan which helps keep the treatment cost down.

Going to Banfield was the biggest mistake we ever made in our decades of pet parenting. When we sold our primary residence to spend some time seeing this great nation we thought it made sense for us to bring our pooch to Banfield since they have clinics nationwide. That is a gimmick that doesn’t pan out in real life.
Before they even saw our dog they pushed their Optimum Wellness Plan on us. Pay monthly and all preventative care and office visits would be covered. We were told if we didn’t buy this plan we would be whacked in the wallet with very large vet bills for our visits.
At the visit the doctor seemed less than caring. Our dog has very bad allergies that don’t respond to typical allergy medications like apoquel or cytopoint. After months of trying to figure it out his previous vet landed on kenalog, it’s a steroid so it isn’t the best for him, but at least it is effective. We would take him in once a month and he would get a shot and his allergies would calm. Banfield treated us as though we were abusing our dog, and not just this Banfield, but every one we took him to. She just kept saying “that’s old school” and it “isn’t my standard practice” before pushing cytopoint on us. As in the past it didn’t work at all…
About a month later we took him to a Banfield in New Jersey to try to get him some relief, same answer, same attitude of “why would you do that to your dog?!” as though we were willy-nilly shooting our dog up with steroids and didn’t try anything else first. It took forever to reach the conclusion we did and Banfield is not only trying to reinvent the wheel here, they are refusing to make it round.
Fortunately for our little buddy, he had an ear infection that required prednisone, and that took care of his allergies also, but once that ran out we were to switch to apoquel. Apoquel doesn’t take care of his allergies completely like kenalog did, but it does slow him down some on chewing his paws and his butt and licking at the air with his tongue.
For the last month he has been miserable. He’s back to chewing on himself incessantly. When it was time to refill his apoquel the Banfield near us refused because that particular doctor hadn’t seen him. We weren’t asking them to write a new prescription, we were asking them to fill the refill that the previous doctor put on there when we got it. And here’s the thing about that “Optimum Wellness Plan,” even though it allegedly covered our office visits we somehow left every visit paying more than a usual visit to his previous vet, which is where he is going on today.
Banfield might seem like a panacea from the outside but it is built on a pile of lies. They use vet care as a cover to fleece you of your money, and then don’t even give your pet the care they need and deserve! I think it is simple; if you love your pet, choose a different vet!

Beware if you sign up for their pet wellness plans. If you try to quit before your year is up, they will get the rest of the year's money out of you - by hook or by crook. I'm so disappointed and surprised to learn that they are that kind of company. I would expect it out of a gym membership, not a vet clinic. When I finish this year's plan, I will switch veterinarians. Never again Banfield.

After moving to Florida, I decided tog get my first puppy. Banfield has gone above and beyond to make sure that my dog is updated on her shots, make diet recommendations, and help me with her flea and tick prevention. I honestly had no idea what I needed to do to get my puppy updated with her shots and heartworm preventative, but Will, the practice manager and his team were very helpful and informative. Words cannot express how much i recommend their services. Thanks to them, my dog Koda continues to remain healthy and updated on all of her shots.

I e had the puppy plan since my Maltese was little. Came from Rochester where the service was very good and they really helped you achieve the best outcome for your dog. This Bradenton office is all about what meds they can sell you and gives no regard for the animal. My dog was brought to them with liver enzymes levels.that were off. Twice they prescribed meds he could swallow and wasn’t even walking at that point. We lost my dog. We asked to cancel the plan and they asked for three remaining plan payments. Ridiculous- can’t use a plan for a dog that no longer with us. If they had helped two days earlier our dog would still be here! Don’t sign up for any plan. Make sure you always have your dog’s outcome your priority! His decline happed so quickly. 😢

I made an appointment for my elderly dog 4 days ago. Was supposed to take him in today at 3:00. I confirm the appointment yesterday ..Iget a call an hour before the appt..that they can't see Fluffy today..and he's having breathing problems and they can't fit him in again.. until next week.. they canceled 1 hour before the appointment.and can't get my dog in until next week. ??? It's horrible. Their service is absolutely horrible and the Manager Gala. Who called me to cancel the appointment was rude. Wouldn't let me ask questions. Was talking over me and didn't even care whether my dog got in.. in fact she got mad when I was asking questions and I think that's why she scheduled me for next week. She couldn't get me in this week which I don't believe she was so utterly rude and non-caring about my elderly dog.. DO NOT GO THERE! I just sent the an email to the owner

Thank you Banfield Pet Hospital for stepping up to help customers of other local vets in their time of need during the post-hurricane power outage in Bradenton. Your compassion goes above and beyond.
