I no longer trust this clinic. My two dogs have been coming here for the last year, since we moved to Tampa. However, our first appointment took over 2.5 hours. Which is unacceptable for an annual check up. I had to take a half day off of work just to drive here, stay at the appointment and go home when our previous vet did an annual exam in about 30 mins. Secondly, they take the dogs to the back to do anything and it makes me uncomfortable. I would like to see what they are doing that is taking so long. The next time we came it was much more efficient visit. When looking into spaying for our mini Aussie, they estimated us some egregious amount. So we went somewhere else for that (which was ⅓ of the cost). Last week we took our mini doodle in because she had diarrhea for 3 days, and her last BM had some blood. The clinic told my husband that a little bit of blood is normal and not to be concerned then they prescribed her 3 medications. One of which was dewormer. They prescribed the dewormer as follows: 5ml 2x per day for a week. But they only gave us 25ml total in the vial. 5*2=10 and 10*7=70. So either they gave incorrect amount of meds or they gave the wrong instructions (give for 3 days not a week). We called to ask for clarification when we realized they didn’t give enough medication. They have not returned our call or prescribed more medication. It’s been 3 days since we originally called. Our dog should be done with her medications tonight. They consistently show a lack of concern for the pets they treat and the careless attitude has really lost them my trust with my pets.

My dog went to Coastal Animal Clinic for knee surgery and we had such a great experience! Dr. Mike Certa is an amazing vet and so compassionate. The entire staff was helpful and caring. We were seen right away and the staff checked in with me regularly following her surgery. Highly recommend this clinic for your pet!

My pet died as a result of Doctor Molina's misdiagnosis post-op.

I give a two star because they were helpful in arranging a needed surgery very quickly on a holiday adjacent day, and their friendly rapport to establish a new patient was pleasant.

That falls on its face very hard, however, considering the conditions of my pet's deterioration and their unwillingness to tell me that my pet had become septic post surgery. They figuratively pushed me out the door to an emergency vet after they had performed an X-ray one week post-op. I was told to take my pet to get an ultrasound at emergency, but no indication as to why. They even proactively shared my pet's x-ray with that emergency vet.

Costal identified my pet was septic and didn't have the decency to tell me, instead pushing that onus onto the emergency vet.

If you need a basic health evaluation, they may be effective, but I won't recommend them. If you require surgery, please, for the sake of your animal, arrange proper post-operation recovery care (something that was diminished or not suggested in my case.)

Non-profit 501(c) offerings exist near enough with hospital care offerings, and likely offer surgery services as well.

Amended:
"We always recommend that pet owners closely monitor their pets post-surgery and seek immediate veterinary attention if they notice any concerning symptoms."

You think I didn't do that? That's exactly where Dr Molina failed. Just three days post op, he evaluated and simply prescribed further antibiotic dosing when the true issue was a rupture in the GI sutures. I told Molina at least five times in that visit that I was concerned the surgery site sutures ruptured and he didn't even offer an ultrasound or xray, just pushed pills like he was looking for kickbacks.

When I brought my animal back the second time just a few days later because he continued to deteriorate, that's when others in your practice couldn't muster the courage to accept this responsibility, and pushed me out to another care provider.

This hideous attempt to save face, clearly without investigating the specifics of my case (echoing Molina's practice of 'results before investigations'), brings my review to zero stars.

We came in for a consult for acupuncture with Dr. DeRosa. Everyone was very pleasant and welcoming. My dog is terrified of strangers but Dr. DeRosa and the assisting tech got on the floor with her and were able to make friends with her. We came back yesterday for our first acupuncture and we were met with the same patience. Dr. DeRosa did an excellent job of explaining the process and providing me with options for the best possible outcome while educating me on potential long term issues so that I can make better informed decisions on future care.

They take such great care of my Beagle. They remember her every time we stop in. Able to to squeeze us in when I have concerns and put my mind at ease with their care and explanations. They are very responsive and I have confidence in their recommendations and level of care.

My golden s in a lot of pain. Shaking. He's torn a ligament or something. They refused to see my dog based on an interaction with me previously when I was upset. I thoroughly apologized.A year ago. They have treated my cat before. All other interactions have been fine. By them refusing to see Kansas when he is clearly in pain, tells me that they unfortunately hold too animosity in their hearts and not enough empathy forthe animal. Very sad that people are so judgemental and hateful. Good Christians.
