I have had a Dog Perfect membership ($179) since July 2024, mainly to get the 20% discount on grooming services. Since joining, I have been to all 3 of the Dog Perfect stores for grooming, baths, nail cuts, etc. since joining. The number of people working in the grooming services department have varied and the quality of the grooming services have varied from one person doing a full groom to two people.

The ability of Dog Perfect to maintain enough "full groomers" has been a problem, with all 3 admitting to having "problems hiring a groomer" which resulted in scarce availability when I've had to supplement with other grooming places. This was a problem for me, and I contemplated canceling my membership, but I did not.

My most recent experience at the Dog Perfect store in The Landings, was bad enough for me to write this review. I scheduled a full groom a month ahead of time with a Dog Perfect package addition ($150 total with the 20% discount) on 11/04/2024. My Golden Retriever and I arrived and I was greeted by a frazzled groomer running back and forth from the Grooming Counter back to where a few dogs were barking loudly. I waited a few minutes for the groomer to take my dog to be taken back to join the barking dogs, and the groomer apologized for the brief wait saying, "I'm the only person working back here." She then informed me it would take "4 hours" for my dog to be finished, because "I'm the only one here, and I will work on all of the dogs by rotating them"). Hearing the barking dogs banging on the sides of whatever contained them, I nervously watched my dog (who rarely barks) be taken back to join the dogs waiting, while staring at me as if staring in headlights.

As I drove away, I had regret that I accepted 4 hours in a kennel for my dog; she is not kenneled at home. Then, I felt let down that I was not notified that my dog's grooming services would take 4 hours, most of that time cooped up in a kennel, giving me a chance to cancel.

When I picked up my dog 4 hours later, my dog bolted out of the exit gate and when I touched her head, it was very wet. So wet, I asked if she spilled something on herself. The groomer explained that Lady would not allow her to touch, to clean, or to dry her ears. I felt puzzled, because in the past 3 years I have owned her, I never had one groomer tell me that she refused any grooming service. The groomer advised me to take my dog to the Vet. I took a sniff of each ear and smelled nothing abnormal. Hum ...

I quickly got my dog out of the store and it was apparent my dog had not urinated in the last 5 hours watching her dart toward the grass. When I got home, I noticed that it didn't look like my dog just had a full groom. I realized that none of the hair on her neck, sides, and tail had been touched with a buzzer or scissors. Her paws barely looked trimmed, and the paw pads were maybe 50% completed. The "sanitary trim" at her rear was not done. The hair that was cut on the back of her legs were partially completed, one side shorter than the other. I highly doubt that my dog was brushed out much, because of the amount of hair in the rake brush was too much to be post one hour from a full groom.

As I contemplated to return to the store and allow the staff to inspect my dog, and get another 4 hours to get it right quite possibly with a groomer working by herself while juggling multiple dogs, I thought not. Just this exercise to memorialize what I submitted my dog to made me nauseated enough. Fool me once...I think not.

Our first visit was great! Got one dog groomed and looking good. I used the dog washing station for my puppy. This is a great washing station! Staff is super knowledgeable.

Absolutely the cutest and best organized pet store I have ever seen! They have ANYTHING you need right on the shelf. If you are a dog owner you must stop in and see for yourself. You can wash your dog yourself or Dayana the groomer. Bernice and Corrin are also very helpful and Megan can answer any questions you may have. My favorite it the doggie donuts 🍩 ❤️

I went back to this location today to restock on my puppy food (purina pro plan). The breeder sent me home with only 1 week worth of food and I needed to buy the same kind. I asked an employee if they sold it, she told me no and that it’s a bad brand. I was shocked, and said well he’s a puppy so I can’t switch him right now but will consider options to transition him to. She recommended Farmina N&D Ancestral Grain Chicken & Pomegranate Medium & Maxi Puppy Dry Dog Food. I purchased it and left. Once I got to my car I looked up reviews (which aren’t great), but on top of that chewy sold it for $8 cheaper. I went back to the store to return it as I felt like I should do more research, and the same employee didn’t seem pleasant. She asked me why I was returning it, I said I wanted to wait for his 12 week vet appointment to see what they recommended. She replied with “well I know what they are going to recommend you, they are going to recommend you pro plan because that’s what they get paid to do”… this was a very uncomfortable comment to make as a new dog owner who already feels overwhelmed… she then asked who my vet was, so I told her. She then told me how four customers and their senior managements dogs died at the vet that I chose and that I should not go there at all. I can tell that this woman is an animal lover and is passionate about dogs, but her approach is incredibly overbearing. She uses fear and not education and I just felt very uncomfortable.

Plenty of options to choose from and the employee was very informative and kind. We have a brand new puppy so we asked a lot of questions and they were more than helpful and extraordinary.

It was my first time in the store since I had just moved to the area. It’s very nice, clean and well stocked. I was helped by two people who were friendly and seemed knowledgeable. I told them about my dog’s issues (cancer & diabetes). They very confidently gave me what I learned a day later was very bad advice. When I went in the second time to grab something, I brought it up to the one person that had originally helped me. She again very confidently stood by what they had told me/sold me. She said that they are “very highly trained in nutrition” and that I “need to be careful where I’m getting my information from”. Well, after speaking with actual nutrition experts (yes multiple) and a vet, the food they sold me could have very well caused pancreatitis and the place they directed me to for more advice and recipes that “would be very beneficial” is for a diet that could be fatal to a diabetic dog. So, unless I have no other option to buy somewhere else, I will not put my money into this company, and I would not trust anything they say. I have zero confidence in them. The one good thing that came out of this is that everything I bought will go to a shelter. :( I hate leaving bad reviews, but these are our dogs lives. I really wanted to love this place.

Updated : took Maggie in for a nail grind and was charged $25! 😳 A little ridiculous! Although the nail tech did an amazing job, very experienced! I tipped them both well.

Unbelievable wealth of knowledge from the staff. Truly the place to go if you want to give your pet the best of the best. Our Sadie has lots of skin problems as most pitbull’s do in Florida. We have found the solutions here and I’ve gotten so much help. It’s worth joining their pet club. You don’t have to break your back giving your dog a bath if you join the Perfect Club, it’s free to go in and use their self serve dog wash. So many money saving perks!
