As so many others have said, this is a great neighborhood park with tennis courts, basketball courts, walking trails with live oaks for shade, exercise equipment, the dog park, and a little reading garden. No restrooms, as far as I could tell. Street parking around the park. The ducks and squirrels are very friendly because, it seems, they get fed often. I'm including photos from the Gallery of Patriots; the collection of political leaders from across the Americas has been there since 1977, the busts have held up very nicely. In all, a small gem of a park near downtown sarasota

It's a nice shady park with plenty of wild life to see. Its handicap accessible. Has a basket ball court, playground for all ages, amazing jungle for the more intrepid kids, and even a dog park. The park is free to visits with free parking. There is a few homeless people but Sarasota police department has made tremendous efforts in cleaning up the drug use and violence in the area. So the homeless here are not a threat they may ask for a smoke or tell ya a joke. The park is clean and safe.

Gorgeous panoramic view of the bay. But the on-site restrooms are kept locked with no attendant anywhere around to unlock them. So, maybe not such a great place for a picnic or any kind of celebration involving food or drink.

A beautiful park we stumbled across in Sarasota. Nice landscaping with trees for shade and benches to sit along with sidewalks to walk on. There was plenty of space and tennis 🎾 courts as well. Wonderful place to spend some time!

Went to the dog park right next to Gillespie Park. Very nice, lots of shade and two sides, one for small pumps and another for larger. Will definitely bring my girl back here!

Wonderful little park near downtown Sarasota. One has to go visit the ducks every evening. The beige one, Cecino anatra, is the one with the most personality.
